Embedding microformats

I'm embedding microformats in Gatekrash, Really Very, and Freshly Minted

I've recently been making some improvements to the Gatekrash API in an effort to make data more easily accessible to other developers. It got me thinking that I should make the 'standard' Gatekrash more easily readable by machines too. And why stop there? I might as well embed as much machine-readable data in all my sites. With that in mind, here's what I'll be doing...

Event pages on Gatekrash already contain a link to their counterpart iCal format event files. I'll be adding hCalendar metadata to event pages to compliment this.

Freshly Minted (this website)

I'll be adding hCard to this site to improve the accuracy of contact details reading by machines (Google/Yahoo/Bing/etc.) I'll also be adding this data to other websites containing my contact details.

Really Very

Really Very is a review website. It makes sense to use the hReview format (even though it is only in the draft stage).

Obviously as these microformats are updated and improved (or superseded), I'll have to update the markup on the sites.

Update: If you want a really great validator (or just a way of seeing what your newly microformat-enabled pages will look like on Google's results), check out their Rich Snippets Testing Tool
